CHEETAH EXPERIENCE, BELA BELA

Cheetah Experience is a registered non-profit company dedicated to protecting and preserving the cheetah and other endangered species, based in Bela Bela, Limpopo, South Africa

The mission of Cheetah Experience is to raise awareness of the vulnerability of South African species and other endangered species through educational experiences, as well as ethically breeding cheetahs in captivity. 

We are home to a number of endangered and threatened species, including cheetahs, leopards, male non-breeding lions, servals, caracals, African wildcats, wolves, meerkats and a Siberian tiger. 

Our project takes in rescued animals from the local area, so we also have various animals from time to time, including 2 dwarf goats and some chickens.​

Visit Cheetah Experience in Bela Bela

We offer visitors a once in a lifetime opportunity to come on an educational tour and learn about our animals, see them up close, take some amazing photos, and learn how you can join us in the fight to protect these precious species.​

Although we do not offer any interaction with our animals you should get the opportunity to be close enough to hear a cheetah purr and see the stunning markings of our elusive black leopards. 

Educational Tours:  Join us for a 60-90 minute educational experience where you will be shown around our project by one of our experienced tour guides, learn about all our animals, and have the opportunity to take plenty of special photos you can share with your friends and family.

Photography Tours:  This is a great opportunity for photographers who have a passion for big cats to observe some of our animals up close, and capture special moments during your two-hour exclusive guided tour! Wear appropriate and comfortable outdoor clothing, including sturdy footwear.

Educational School Tours:  A specialised tour for pupils from Gr R to Gr 12. Pre-book groups bigger than 20 and get a private educational tour at a reduced rate. Tours can be adapted to suit the needs of different ages, group sizes and learning objectives. Pre-booking is required.

Adults – R200  Children, Pensioners – R150  Children under 2 years – FREE

Our tours are arranged by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Our tour times: 9:30 am and 3:00 pm

We are closed on Mondays.

Ensure you arrive 15 mins prior to the start of the tour. Please wear appropriate and comfortable outdoor clothing.

At the Curio Shop you will be able to purchase gifts, souvenirs, drinks and snacks.

We offer a wide range of Volunteer and Internship Programs, which have seen over 1,000 hard-working, dedicated people from 33 countries come and be a special part of the Cheetah Experience Global Volunteer Family, and contribute to conservation in South Africa.

Donate to Cheetah Experience

Donate or Adopt an Animal, and help support conservation in South Africa. We rely on the generosity of our Global Volunteer & Intern Family, current volunteers and interns, sponsors and visitors to our project, so we can continue to provide our animals with the best possible care.​

All of the money donated goes towards assisting with annual vaccinations of our animals, the maintenance of their enclosures, sourcing the best possible food for our animals, covering vet bills and purchasing enrichment items.
